It’s that time of year again, the school holidays are well and truly over and the Summer is but only a distant memory.
At first, I was a little bit sad at the end of Summer, but then I remembered all of the wonderful things that Autumn has to offer us. Its a time of cosy knits, long boots, woodland walks, crunching through the fallen leaves and finding the treasures of conkers and chestnuts.
Not only do I love and appreciate the outside world in this changing season, but I also love what happens inside my home too. The cosy blankets come out, the candles are lit and we all curl up on the sofa with hot chocolates all snug and warm while the outside world is turning colder. Its definitely the most Hygge time of the year isn’t it!
Beau and I were discussing the changing of the seasons the other day and in particular the coming of Autumn and what this meant. We talked about the changing colours and the falling of the leaves and time and time again we came back to the idea of being in the woods. Next we decided to have a think about the animals that live in the woods and how they would all now be going about their business getting ready to hibernate for the Winter months. We imagined how it would feel to be an animal hibernating away in underground dens beneath the earth. Think of images of Beatrix Potter creatures with soft candle light glow and warm, snug cosiness………
In our family we have always been big fans of the humble Badger. If the lion is the King of the Jungle then to me the Badger is the King of the English Woodlands. I have loved badgers since I was a child myself and this seems to have rubbed off on my own little ones too.
We were therefore absolutely delighted when we were given an opportunity to review some products as sent to us by Sew Heart Felt.
I received a confirmation email from Sew Heart Felt with a tracking number informing me that there was a package on its way to me. The parcel arrived the very next morning by 9.00am, how’s that for a speedy service huh!
Once we brought the box inside , I had three very eager and excited little boys desperate to rip it open and see what goodies were inside.
They were not disappointed! Inside the box was several linen bags of differing sizes all printed with the words “Sew Heart Felt”, and inside the bags were three pairs of identical slippers, one pair for each boy. The boys were over the moon with these gifts and couldn’t wait to try them on, however there was still more to come. There was one large bag left, that Beau being the eldest got to open. This last bag contained an absolutely glorious full size badger rug/wall hanging. I literally could of cried happy tears, I had my very own little badger sett!
The boys and I were all delighted with these gifts. Not only are the slippers fun and extremely practical with their leather soles, but they are also incredibly warm and cosy on little toes.
The badger rug/wall hanging can be used for either of these purposes. I personally think that I am going to use this as a rug in the two elder boys bedroom and they agree that this is a very good idea indeed! As stated above though, this could also be easily used to make a magnificent wall hanging. The decision really is your own. Once again, this product is made of felt and is extremely well made and I’ve no doubt that given its high quality that it will stand the test of time even with the “love and attention” that three little boys give to it.
